    Mechanical Engineer - Weller - Besigheim

    We are looking for a dynamic and creative Mechanical Engineer for R&D in the field of hand soldering and fume extraction systems.

    Summary
    In this position your core responsibility will be to develop and improve mechanical systems in support of our new product development with a focus on plastic part design and integration within a full mechanical assembly. You will be involved in all design-related aspects of the projects from concept to beyond production.
    This position does require the ability to interface with engineering, sales, quality, production, and marketing personnel.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design, build, and implement various mechanical systems with a focus on plastic part design for high performance soldering products (stations, irons, tips, filtration, etc.)

    • Innovate, create, and evolve new product ideas using Voice of Customer (VOC) and related techniques to support aggressive growth objectives

    • Manufacturing test plan development and deployment for mechanical subassemblies and full tool systems

    • Design, layout, test, and troubleshoot subassemblies and full tools

    • Partner with product management team to translate product design features into engineering requirements and specifications

    • Partner with suppliers to ensure that the product is developed on time and on budget

    • Provide feedback and expertise in cross functional design reviews

    Critical Skills & Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering, Plastics Engineering or similar

    • Experience creating products within an R&D / New Product Development environment

    • Experience designing injection molded plastic parts

    • Basic understanding of machining principles and capabilities

    • Experience with 3D CAD (Creo or later)

    • Fluency in German and English
