    The Department of Biology and Chemistry is looking to fill a W2 Professorship in Inorganic Molecular Chemistry focused on Sustainable Chemistry and Energy Storage. This position is established within the Heisenberg Program of the German Research Foundation (DFG). The selected candidate will initially be appointed on a temporary basis for three years, with the opportunity for a permanent position thereafter.

    Responsibilities:

    • Engage in research in the field of molecular, inorganic chemistry related to energy storage and sustainable chemistry.
    • Collaborate with research centers within the university, such as the Center for Material Research.
    • Contribute to internationalization efforts by participating in English-language modules and research projects.
    • Teach in various chemistry programs and contribute to the development of English-language modules.
    • Mentor and train graduate students.

    Qualifications:

    • Internationally recognized expert in molecular, inorganic chemistry with a focus on energy storage and sustainability.
    • Demonstrated excellence in research and teaching.
    • Proficiency in both German (C2 level) and English (C1 level).
    • Experience in securing research funding, preferably from reputable sources like DFG, BMBF, or EU.
    • Strong academic background with a Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field.
    • Proven track record of publications and successful grant applications.
