In August 2019 I moved to Germany to work as an Au pair for a family in Munich. My job consisted of looking after the 1 year old son of the family, and also looking after the 4 year old when he was not at kindergarten.

In addition my other responsibilities were cooking meals, preparing activities and during the 2020 COVID crisis becoming a full time tutor to both children. I taught both children English and both children (now aged 4 and 7) are almost fluent. Due to the way I was able to adapt to these changes, in August 2020 my host family decided to take me on as an official employee and I was no longer of Au pair status.

From August 2018 to August 2019 I was working as a kindergarten assistant in the UK. Working closely with room supervisors to ensure that nursery protocols are followed whilst ensuring that all children are given the attention and encouragement that they need to develop and flourish.

• On a day-to-day basis, my key tasks include: taking children to the toilet, preparing and running educational sessions, supervising mealtimes and providing daily reports to parents at collection time.
• In my short time at Paper Moon, I have twice been awarded the parent nominated 'Employee of the Month' award for my contribution.
• During my apprenticeship, I have had roles across each of the age-groups, giving me invaluable experience caring for children ranging in age from babies (0-12 months) through to pre-school (4-5 years).
