Allaina Christy

Hi, I'm Allaina! I'm originally from Colorado but I'm now living in Berlin, Germany where I most recently worked as a sommelier. I'm very passionate and knowledgeable about wine, food, and travel. I love learning about new cultures through what they eat and drink, and my favorite activity is planning trips revolving around food and beverage. Another thing I really enjoy and excel at is educating others about these topics. Throughout my various studies, occupations, and travels, I've mastered skills such as customer service, adaptability, creativity, organization, and researching. 

Most recently, I was employed as the head sommelier at a wine bar in Berlin, Germany. Prior to that, I worked as a tasting room attendant at a winery in Paso Robles, California and on the production side of a spirits distillery in Golden, Colorado. Besides my experience in the wine and spirits industry, I have also held various positions in retail and gastronomic outlets including shift supervisor, hostess, and receptionist. 

I received a Bachelors Degree in Wine and Viticulture with a focus in Wine Business and a minor in Psychology at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. After graduation, I moved to Italy where I attended the University of Padova and got a Masters Degree in Italian Food and Wine. I have also completed the WSET Level 3 in Wines.
