Dear Sir / Madam,

I am Emadedin Soufian, a graduate student in Computer-Aided in Mechanical engineering "CAME" at RWTH Aachen University in Germany. 

I started learning about the Finite Element method through the lecture of “Advanced Finite Element Methods” and “Practical Finite Element Methods ” with Professor Dr. Itskov at RWTH Aachen University. Afterward, I began my job at IWM RWTH Aachen in the FEM department. As a research assistant at this institute, I improved my MATLAB scripting skills and FEM modeling validation through experiments. This topic was so exciting to me that I started to do my Mini-thesis in this area, during which I developed a numerical simulation model of the thermo-mechanical contact for single grain scratching of 100cr6 with cubic boron nitride at WZL RWTH Aachen. Furthermore, taking part in the lectures of “Manufacturing Technology”  and “Simulation technic In Manufacturing Technology” with Prof. Dr. Klocke has given me a chance to get more interested in simulation of Manufacturing process. In this regard, I started my HIWI and master thesis under the supervision of Dr.-Ing. Mustapha Abouridouane in the cutting section of the manufacturing department of WZL RWTH Aachen. I developed a robust User Subroutine to define a Microstructure-based modeling approach for the prediction and optimization of residual stresses in the machined surface when cutting the nickel-based alloy Inconel 718 as main factor on fatigue mechanism.

I was so excited to see that one of the primary responsibilities of this position is analyzing the fatigue strength according to validated data. Because  I have had a similar experience in my Hiwi jobs and Master thesis at WZL and IWM where I am involved in simulation and validation of the various Manufacturing processes, significantly metal cutting and Grinding procedure. While working at WZL, I became highly competent in Python scripting, Fortran programming and Numerical modeling.

I also have an extreme interest in experimental work and validation of simulation results with that which makes me a good fit for this position.

As a big fan of Manufacturing Technology , I am really enthusiastic about focusing all of my time and potential in working and extending my knowledge in the scientific part and simultaneously involving different Industrial projects and cooperating with distinct companies. In fact, This is the point that makes me more interested in working at this position.
