Dear Recruiting team, 

I’m Jacopo Risso, Material Engineer who’s looking for new opportunities with several years of working experience on production processes, R&D applied to the manufacturing, process qualification, project development, characterizations and data analysis.

From November 2021 until April 2022, I´ve worked in Berlin as “Product Performance Specialist” at the e-commerce company “Wayfair”, during those months I´ve worked on data analysis, review of quality procedures, implementation of new procedures and documentation’s maintenance; during which I gained more experience about documentations and reporting.

My previous working experiencewas as Process engineer / R&D at the Thin Film Department of the company “Technoprobe”, which sector is microtechnology manufacturing; being part of an engineering team for the development of a semiconductor device and the scale-up from lab to factory. My duties were to improve surface treatment processes, designing and executing experiments, to ensure process capabilities, to introduce SPC methods, and to cooperate about the development of new products, sharing results with the team, and ensuring the equipment purchasing and relative documentation. 

Previously I worked as Process Engineer at the company “Rubinetterie Stella”. I’ve concerned about introducing from zero the production process of physical vapor deposition (PVD), in order to implement it and to introduce new finishes. I’ve started from managing the installation of the necessary machines, performed by the supplier, then I’ve defined stable and repeatable processes, through the optimization of the recipes and the used materials, and working also on the pre deposition surface cleaning. Experiments and analysis were planned by me in order to guarantee finishes in compliance with ISO quality standards and company needs; company needs defined by collaborating with the commercial office and through a competitor analysis. After this first phase I presented the results to internal and external stakeholders, and I took care of training personnel and managing the production, also ensuring the equipment purchasing and documentation, and maintaining relationships with suppliers and customers.

Simultaneously I also worked on the electroplating process, in order to improve it in terms of efficiency and quality and on the implementation of a laser- marking production process.

Previously I worked at the company “Praxair Surface Technologies”, a company specialized in anti-wear coatings, in the technical office, my tasks were to follow the production and to write technical documents starting from the customers’ requests, the design of coating equipment, following the production and maintaining relations with customers and suppliers. 

Another work experience that has been important for my growth was the curricular internship done at the metrological department of the multinational company “Global Wafers”, a manufacturer of silicon CVD - epitaxial slices. My task was to study and improve a quality control measurement based on a surface treatment; testing a new measurement methodology, verifying its reliability and accuracy with a statistical study. This was an internal project conducted in collaboration with the instrument’s supplier, during which I even had the opportunity to make two business trips at its headquarter, located in Budapest, and to hold audits in order to discuss the project’s progresses. 

Thanks to these work experiences, and to my studies, I acquired knowledges and competences in R&D, production management, product development, quality control and data analysis, especially on coating processes. I grew up skills as a structured approach to my job, teamwork skills and I’m skilled about designing test, preparing reports and presenting results; I have good communication skills in English and a basic knowledge of German, with the willingness of continuing on  it.
