I, Julide Erdem, am a master's graduate in Law and Business from HEAD Paris Law School, with a passion for privacy and a proven track record in developing effective business strategies that comply with personal data protection regulations. My background in working for leading international organizations, such as Baker McKenzie, Accor SA, and Alibaba Group, has given me valuable experience across various industries, including e-commerce, IT, insurance, and hospitality.

As a junior lawyer, legal counsel member, and legal intern, I have had the opportunity to provide counsel and support on complex legal issues and negotiations. I hold a French Business Lawyer certificate and am registered as a lawyer at the Istanbul Bar Association. My ultimate career goal is to work as a data protection officer or privacy counsel in an international environment. I am confident in my ability to balance data privacy and legal compliance while driving business growth and success.

I am highly educated with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Law and Business from HEAD Paris Law School and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Koc University Law School. I have also participated in a study abroad program from Bucerius Law School and completed my high school education from Istanbul Robert American High School. My key strengths include personal data protection process compliance, analyzing new legal requirements, accompanying negotiations, and implementing legal requirements for global/international projects.

In my free time, I enjoy exploring new cultures and languages. I am fluent in English, Turkish, German (B2-Upper Intermediate Level), and French (B1-Intermediate Level). I am also an active member of the Istanbul Blockchain Women Club and have a keen interest in EU GDPR, Compliance, European Law, Negotiation, Corporate Law, and Microsoft Office.

My diverse background in working for leading international organizations such as Accor SA, Alibaba Group, and Baker McKenzie has given me valuable experience across various industries including e-commerce, IT, insurance, and hospitality.

At Accor SA, I was responsible for developing a comprehensive data protection framework to ensure global compliance, streamlining data protection rules for over 110 countries. I also assisted in responding to 200+ data extraction requests and investigated the implications of applicable laws on data access, privacy, and compliance, meeting a 98% compliance rate.

At Alibaba Group, I drafted and reviewed over 250 contracts to ensure compliance with local regulations, boosting the legal compliance rate. I also conducted comprehensive risk assessments and initiated the creation of a cloud-based content repository to ensure comprehensive and secure access to legal documents, improving time efficiency by 50%.

As an M&A legal intern at Kolcuoglu Demirkan Kocakli Attorneys at Law, I devised a due diligence framework and completed a thorough risk assessment of heavily regulated industries. I also assessed risk factors associated with value-reaching and transaction structuring for the target in transnational agreements and analyzed industry data to assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

During my summer internships at Schürmann Rosenthal Dreyer Rechtsanwälte and Baker McKenzie, I conducted extensive legal research to acquire an in-depth understanding of IT law and data protection regulations globally, across 20 jurisdictions. I also consolidated certificates and escrow agreements, and supported a corporate internal antitrust investigation by reviewing internal data and documents.

I was also honored to be a finalist in the Diversity Essay Competition hosted by Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, showcasing my writing and analytical skills, as well as my commitment to diversity and inclusivity in the field of law and business.
