Marina Ferraz

M.A. student in World Heritage at the BTU Cottbus who is passionate about culture, events, and management.

My background is in cultural management since I completed my Bachelor’s in Cultural Production (UFF) which provided a general knowledge about arts and cultural project management. I also completed a postgraduation course in Business Administration (FGV) and participated in an exchange program in Artistic Promotion and Cultural Heritage (IPS) in Portugal. 

As a professional, I have experience in the Cultural Department from Rio de Janeiro with the development of public policies for the cultural field and acted as a freelancer reviewer for the funding of cultural projects. My last position was as an assistant in the organization of conferences and events.

Previously, I worked with the Rio de Janeiro Cultural Department, where I assisted in the organization of public funding for social and cultural projects, and occasionally organized internal small events and meetings. This opportunity provided me with knowledge in sustainable urban development, as most of the funded projects were community-based and Capacity Building related in Rio de Janeiro's peripheral neighborhoods. Later, I worked as an Events and Conference Assistant, providing customer service to speakers, authors, and corporate executives at international conferences, as well as supporting the organization of meetings for the Technical Committee. Other duties involved the conference program formatting, revising communication materials, and development of an article submission system and guidelines alongside the UX designer consultant. Living in Germany, I completed a social media internship at an NGO in Berlin, where I improved my skills in using tools like Canva and Trello, as well as my understanding of NGO networks. I also supported an event at the Foreigners Office, which gave me a great introduction to corporate events in Germany.
