Über Ross Brown:

Passionate about environmental science with a strong academic foundation. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia and expanded my horizons with a practical project at the Technical University of Munich, focusing on Land Surface-Atmosphere Interactions. My coursework included a range of relevant subjects, from Fundamentals of Ecology to Advanced GIS and Programming.

As a German-American Fulbright Committee Study/Research Award Grantee, I delved into the intricacies of climate change by exploring tree productivity and physiology in response to European droughts. My work involved designing experiments, utilizing satellite data, and creating ecological models to estimate CO2 uptake in complex forest ecosystems. Proficient in R, Python, and Google Earth Engine, I'm well-versed in data analysis and modeling.

I also gained hands-on experience during a summer research internship at the Marine Biological Laboratory, where I studied the effects of salinity on biomass allocation and photosynthesis in Sporobolus alterniflorus. Additionally, I've contributed to research projects, including understanding the changing landscape in an Arctic community and exploring non-standard timber strategies.

My passion for addressing climate change drives my professional and extracurricular pursuits. I'm excited to connect with like-minded individuals and organizations to contribute to meaningful solutions in the environmental field. Let's connect and explore how we can work together to make a positive impact.
