Sandesh Baral

I am a master computer science student at TU Berlin currently nearing the end of my studies. I am interested in Data Science, Machine Learning and AI. During the past years, I have managed to learn theoretical fundamentals of machine learning/Data Science through my studies and also seen and implemented them in practice through my internship/working student experiences.  

During my tenure at Billie GmbH from July 2023 to June 2024 as a Data Science/Machine Learning Working Student, I honed my expertise in implementing business logic using R within the fraud decision system. I developed a UI tool for fraud detection and labeling utilizing Clojure, SQL, Git, and CI/CD technologies, and conducted extensive data analysis to support various business and engineering initiatives using SQL. My role also involved exploratory data analysis (EDA) for fraud detection model features and the development of insightful dashboards using Periscope.

Prior to this, at TCON from November 2022 to March 2023, I applied machine learning techniques to sensor data for anomaly and cluster detection, leveraging tools such as scikit-learn, NumPy, Pandas, and Matplotlib, and presented the findings to clients.

 Earlier, as a Student Assistant at Goethe Universität Frankfurt am Main from May 2017 to September 2019, I contributed to front-end development for a language learning website using CakePHP, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML, interacted with customers, and developed E-Learning courses. These roles collectively enriched my technical proficiency and collaborative skills in diverse data science and machine learning projects.
