Über Shuvam Mondal:
I completed my Bachelor's degree in Physics and proceeded with Astrophysics for my Master's degree. During this period, I learned about observational, theoretical, and computational methods relevant to astrophysics. Working as a HiWi student gave me the opportunity to learn skills from my peers and taught me about some current frameworks relevant to astrophysics. My thesis, which focused mostly on comparing / building multiple algorithms taught me a lot about the importance of computational work for space-based missions. I am interested in vehicle automation, trajectory planning, and localization simulations to begin with. But am open to working on all projects that interest me.

Represented the group while informing junior students about events (Seminars with external speakers) held by the the Society of Physics.
Graphic Design Work for MVM and Society of Physics : 01/2016 - 01/2018
Created various posters, banners and a magazine cover for the Marathi Vangmay Mandal at St.Xavier's College (Mumbai) as well as created banners for the Society of Physics.
Self- Employed creator and host of e-commerce site : 10/2019 - 12/2019
Created website (ThessaDecor) using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap.
Designed a new logo for the brand (Adobe Illustrator).
Hosted the website and launched multiple ad campaigns through Facebook.
HiWi for Dr. Rolf Kuiper : 01/2020 - 01/2021
Ran simulations for expansion of high-density regions around massive stars with and without self-gravity in order to visualize pressure and density variations in the framework called Pluto. Created script to convert .dbl files to .tab.
Bildung
Bachelor of Science (Physics)
Thesis Topic - Calculating the pollutant flux between Atmospheric layers of Mumbai.
-Adapted the fixed box model to estimate pollutant flux velocity and hence pollutant concentrations between the different atmospheric layers over Mumbai.
-Applied kriging methods to sections of Mumbai (based on sampling heights of the buildings) and visualized the pollutant flux across layers using QGIS for Mumbai.
-Repeated the calculation and visualization for three seasons.
Master Astro and Particle Physics
Thesis Topic - Estimation of the Localization Accuracy of the Nano-satellite Constellation (HERMES) using TDOA Algorithms.
-Adapted pre-existing algorithms to fit the HERMES mission.
-Created scripts in Python and C++ to compare the algorithms with different initial conditions (Source positions, Detector configurations and Detector numbers).
-Plotted the improvement across algorithms for the different initial conditions as well as calculated the intrinsic errors within the algorithms.
