Sze Wai Chan

Hallo! This is Sze Wai (Cynthia) from Hong Kong. I am currently a first year master student in TUM studying Landscape Architecture, and I have 2.5 years of experience working as a Landscape designer in Hong Kong. I have been trained professionally on visual communication & design both in my undergraduate studies and at the workplace, where I collaborated with an international team consisting of fellow workers coming from Europe and Asia. I worked closely with my colleagues in producing presentation materials with MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite to effectively communicate with our clients both visually and verbally. As a member of a compact team, I was trained to work independently in an organized and goal-oriented manner to complete tasks efficiently. I know Chinese (Mandarin / Cantonese), English, Japanese and I am a beginner in German. I am a passionate and quick learner, I am open to new ideas and I am a team player who is willing to collaborate. 

I have 2.5 years experience in Landscape Design, working for two companies in Hong Kong. In both companies, I worked in an international team consisting of colleagues coming from Europe and Asia. I also worked part time during my bachelor studies for environmental organization.

Full time Assistant Landscape Designer

• May 2022 — March 2023 (11 Months)
• Job duties:  Participated mainly in large scale landscape design projects, including urban landscape planning, river revitalization competitions, resort and golf course master planning, public housing development,  tree assessment and landscape visual impact assessment, etc. Acquired experience in visual communication, design practice, project coordination and drawing production.

Full time Assistant Landscape Designer

• Sep 2020 — May 2022 (1 Year & 7 Months)
• Job duties:  Participated in diverse types and multiple scales of landscape design projects, including master planning for innovative campus & museum, cemetery design, hospitality development, private residential landscape design, etc. Acquired experience in visual communication, design practice, project coordination and drawing production.

Part time Project Helper

• 2018 — 2019 (Approximately 1 year)
• Job duties: Assisted field works for government recycling schemes.
