    Focus of the role:

    As the Head of Global Operational Excellence (m/f/d) you will play a pivotal role in driving TechOps gross margin maximization and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the manufacturing network and related functions worldwide. The primary focus will be on implementing strategies, programs, and initiatives to enhance operational performance, streamline processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while enhancing productivity, service level, quality, safety, and environmental sustainability in alignment with global strategy. The main enablers are People development, upskilling and reskilling, digitalization and close connection with the business.

    Your assignments

  • Support the SVP of Strategy and Business Excellence in creation of the functional vision, strategy, and operational plan, maximizing contribution to Fresenius Kabi strategic objectives as well as best in class operational performance.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive operational excellence strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives, encompassing manufacturing, quality, supply chain, logistics, and related functions.
  • Lead and oversee continuous improvement initiatives, including appropriate methodologies, process mapping, and other tools to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains on the most relevant levers to grow the business and debottlenecking.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize processes, procedures, and best practices across global manufacturing sites and supply chain operations.
  • Collaborate with Finance and related functions to identify and deploy improvement opportunities with sustainable realization of tangible COGS benefits on major cost drivers such as direct materials, processes, and indirect costs.
  • Collaborate with IT, functions, sites, and with external parties to allow for a digitally enabled global network when it comes to data, analytics, new ways of data visualization for enhanced visibility where people can make rapid and productivity-centric and sustainable decisions.
  • Establish a Performance Management governance including related key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure operational performance, monitor progress, and drive accountability at all levels of the organization.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and root cause analyses to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address gaps and challenges.
  • Build a network of operational excellence teams and project managers and provide leadership and guidance to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, long-life learning and constructive discontent to talk about problems and seek out opportunities.
  • Ensure that continuous improvement activities adhere to compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and quality management systems in all manufacturing and supply chain activities.
  • Support the validation of Industrial Investment (Capex), monitor major strategic Capex investment (time, cost, quality and efficiency).
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to implement new technologies, automation solutions, and digital tools to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and deliver training programs and workshops to build capabilities in operational excellence principles and methodologies across the organization.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply chain management to drive innovation and competitive advantage
  • Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.
  • Extensive experience (15+ years) in operational excellence, process improvement, and project management within international Matrix organisations in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Proven track record of leading successful operational excellence initiatives, driving tangible results in cost reduction, quality improvement, and operational efficiency.
  • Governance Processes: Demonstrated results in defining program-level business processes, coaching business partners in their application, and supervising program effectiveness
  • Problem Solving: Excellent analytical skills, able to provide solutions to complex issues and to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and develop actionable insights to drive decision-making
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams and drive change at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrixed and multicultural environment, collaborating with diverse teams across geographic locations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality management systems (e.g., FDA regulations, GMP, ISO standards) applicable to pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply chain operations.
  • Fluency in English, additional language skills are an advantage
