    The Manager of Connectivity Software is responsible for managing the day to day operations for product development of connectivity software through all product lifecycle phases in a cost-effective manner according to company policies and procedures and within budgetary guidelines. This individual oversees a group of Technical Product Managers and collaborates with cross functional project teams from all engineering disciplines, programs, operations, supply chain and quality.

    Your tasks:

    • Lead technical product management activities and provide direction to the staff in this organization
    • Execute product management tasks in coordination with Program Management in accordance with complete Safran's PROMPT process
    • Define software products for inflight connectivity, roadmaps and features
    • Define product briefs, use cases, high level requirements and acceptance criteria for connectivity software products
    • Coordinates with the IFC Product Management to ensure compatibility between system-wide software functions and HW requirements
    • Manage dependencies between software modules with respect to ISP/MSPs and IFE product line
    • Control internal and external supplier projects to develop the software products in coordination with program management
    • Manage and assess technological evolutions, feature upgrades, security patches and change requests for software products
    • Interface with R&T to propose and evaluate proof of concepts
    • Support export classifications for software products
    • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into software product requirements
    • Coaching and mentoring of the team, providing employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems
    • Train and instruct employees in job duties (technical, non-technical)
    • Conduct feedback meetings and annual reviews and support individual training and development needs in the team
    • Create, maintain, and adhere to the team budget
    • Participate to the hiring process
    • Responsible for the application of occupational health and safety laws as well as for the wellbeing of the team.
    • Be a role model: Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution, and enforce professional behavior, expectations, and group values
    • Continuously contribute to improve established processes

    Requirements

    • Successfully completed studies in computer sciences or another comparable study program, or a successfully completed training in a comparable IT profession
    • 5+ years of experience working in Product Management or Product Development
    • 3+ years of experience working in a Management role
    • Basic knowledge of budgetary process
    • Ability to envision and analyze software products holistically at system level
    • Experience in defining software requirements, knowledge of DOORS is advantageous
    • Experience in JIRA and Confluence is advantageous
    • Knowledge of the V model and DO-178/ED-12C standard is advantageous
    • Knowledge of Linux and networking is advantageous
