The Amazon Linux team is responsible for the design and maintenance of all of Amazon's core compute platforms, with a special focus on EC2, the Elastic Compute Cloud that is the basis for much of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Software Development Engineers work with technical leaders to refine technical direction, and then follow through with detailed analysis, designs, and superior code.
The baseline individual for this role will be entirely comfortable with the Linux operating system and programming languages such as Python, Bash, Javascript and/or Typescript in a Linux environment.
This team creates the very core of the cloud, and is directly responsible for radically changing and improving the way that people use computers - come help us make history

As a member of the UC organization, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS.
Within AWS UC, Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) roles engage with AWS customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
Key job responsibilitiesYou will write, read, review and iterate over narrative documents for planning and technical designs. You might be asked to join scheduled or ad-hoc communication for whatever idea or issue is being worked on.
After all, you are key influencer on technical strategy and you will heavily weigh in on technical direction of the architecture around you.
You will write code that implements the technical concepts that you strategized and reviewed. You will also lead other engineers around you to contribute to your implementation.
A few times a week you will have 1:1 meetings with other leaders in the organization, initially for your own mentoring and learning, and later to discuss current and future projects.
You enjoy our flexible work schedule and start working at a time in the morning that aligns best with your private situation.
We have a tram stop directly in front of our office building, alternatively a private car park or our spacious bike locking room with separate showers.
For lunch, people often go out in groups, or meet in our winter garden or up on the roof terrace.
