Mercedes-Benz Cars Procurement & Supplier Quality (MP) is responsible for an annual purchasing volume in the double-digit billion range and ensures the quality of the corresponding components. In partnership with around 1, suppliers in Germany and abroad, the necessary materials are provided for the Mercedes-Benz Cars/Vans production plants worldwide. Locations in Germany, South Africa, China, India, Mexico and Argentina ensure proximity to production. New challenges exist in particular in the areas of autonomous driving, connectivity and alternative drive systems.

In the Semiconductor Purchasing and Capacity Management Center (MP/D), we are responsible for purchasing, hedging and capacity management of semiconductor components. In a direct business relationship with semiconductor manufacturers, we take into account technological, commercial and strategic aspects for sustainable security of supply. We support our partners with technological innovations and the expansion of the production network, thereby enabling future-proof and sustainable vehicle production.

You will face these challenges:

As a buyer for semiconductors, you will work in a technically demanding and international environment

You will be the mouthpiece for manufacturers, distributors and foundries of active and passive components, develop supply and hedging strategies and carry out direct awards in cooperation with the cross-functional departments and the existing Mercedes-Benz purchasing departments

You prepare the results of negotiations in the form of award recommendations and represent these in the relevant committees

You will also play an active role in shaping the global supplier strategy for the respective commodity in terms of costs, quality and availability

Your tasks will also include negotiating framework and hedging agreements with semiconductor manufacturers in cooperation with the assigned specialist lawyers

You will independently and autonomously develop preventive measures to safeguard the supply of semiconductors together with the capacity management team

You are in close contact with the various semiconductor suppliers and build and maintain partnerships - if necessary by traveling and visiting the suppliers' international locations on site

You make a significant contribution to securing supply and the strategic orientation of semiconductor purchasing and thus contribute directly to the company's success

Qualifikationen

Ideally you have the following:

You have a degree in engineering, technology or business administration or a comparable qualification

You have professional experience in the semiconductor sector, preferably in purchasing

Your knowledge of the semiconductor industry, production processes and technologies round off your profile

You are business fluent in English and ideally speak another foreign language and are interested in other cultures

Communication and innovation are your personal tools for success and you can quickly grasp, analyze and structure complex issues
