- Provide routine technical support in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures
- Troubleshoots system hardware and software issues
- Trains end users on the proper use of hardware and software
- Performs basic software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
- Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels
- Ensures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions
- Ensure data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations
- Conducts basic hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
- Ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users
- May evaluate existing systems and assist with planning long-term strategies
- Security Clearance Required: Secret Level Security Clearance
- Education: BA/BS or equivalent
- Experience: 2+ years of experience
- Certification: DoD 8570 IAT Level II
- Skills: Experience managing systems in a virtual environment is a must; Successful candidates should also have a fundamental knowledge of networking fundamentals and basic Windows administration. Experience with Mobile Device Management platforms, such as Samsung Knox, is a plus.

GDIT is seeking a Linux System Administrator to support 24/7/365 operations in Wiesbaden, Germany supporting U.S. Army Europe as part of our EMITS Program Team
The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining a Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment, including establishing and maintaining logging policies, as well as collecting and managing data.
This position is part of a shift work schedule which includes coverage on nights, weekends, and holidays.
