in the field of energy systems modeling for transport decarbonization pathways, starting preferably in August 2024.
This position focuses on the refined modeling of the transport transition in the context of the decarbonization of global energy systems.

As a valuable member of our team, your task is to further advance our detailed transport model (EDGE-Transport).The model represents national and international passenger and freight transport and is coupled to the REMIND model, one of the world's leading global integrated energy-economy climate models.
We encourage candidates at the postdoc level to apply.Remuneration is in accordance with the German public tariff scheme (TV-L Brandenburg), salary group E 13 This is a full-time position with a weekly working time of 40 hours per week.
The position can be filled on a part-time basis.Analyze the mobility transition within global, European and German energy transformation pathways, covering policies, technologies and behavioral developments
Validate our model against newly published empirical data
Contribute to the development of the integrated assessment modeling framework REMIND, in which EDGE-Transport is embedded
Publish your results in renowned scientific journals and present them at international conferences
Master's Degree or PhD in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Transport Science or a related field
Excellent programming skills, e.g. in R or Python
Demonstrated expertise in software engineering and management of open source software projects and knowledge of Git and GitHub is a plus
Capacity to collaborate in a team, while progressing independently with own responsibilities
A high level of competence in oral and written English
Willingness to travel for work (project meetings, workshops etc.)
