Job Title: Civil Engineer for Street and Civil Engineering

Tasks

• You will work in a dynamic team, coordinating activities in the fields of street construction and green spaces.
• You will represent the city in administrative matters, public institutions, and governmental bodies.
• Participation in urban traffic planning tasks.
• Independent planning, maintenance, and repair coordination of municipal road construction, engineering structures, and street/lighting systems.
• Management of planning and construction services, project supervision, cost planning, and control.
• Responsibilities as a street construction sponsor for the city of Parchim and involvement in projects of other street sponsors (district, state, federal).
• Management of water maintenance obligations for the city.
• Development and amendment of regulations within the area of responsibilities.
• Budget planning and monitoring for the department.

Profile

• Completed university or technical college degree in civil engineering specialized in street construction, civil engineering, or equivalent qualification with several years of professional experience.
• Practical experience in street and civil engineering, planning, and construction.
• Knowledge of procurement law (VgV, VOB, VOL, UVgO, GWG, HOAI) and experience with tendering programs and procurement management systems (e.g., AVAPLAN).
• Proficient in common MS Office products. Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping (Doppik) is desirable.
• Willingness to take on project responsibility and adjust working hours flexibly to project requirements.
• Team player with high flexibility, commitment, and experience in team management.
• Organizational skills, assertiveness, and ability to work independently.
• Class B driver's license and driving experience.
