Senior RME Technician at Amazon

Our Maintenance and Reliability Engineering Team (RME Team) is at the core of Amazon's commitment to innovation. Amazon is evolving and this team ensures that the technologies and tools we use also evolve. As a Senior RME Technician, you help us stay one step ahead of development. You implement the latest technologies and identify new, efficient work methods. In this role, you pay close attention to our processes and contribute to ensuring that we follow and continually enhance our highest safety standards.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Supporting the operation of equipment and facilities with the highest safety standards
• Tracking equipment performance through visual inspections, condition-based monitoring, and preventive maintenance, scheduling additional maintenance as needed
• Leading the technical team during their shift, supporting and developing them
• Solving equipment issues to reduce operational downtime and enable the fastest package handling possible
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of systems and process standardization throughout the EU network

A Day in the Life:

You oversee a maintenance team within a shift, ensuring that all team members have the necessary tools available and functioning properly. This includes monitoring processes to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines, as well as ensuring the implementation of preventive maintenance measures to maximize our facilities' uptime. Through your observations during shift work, you make improvement suggestions to make our systems even more efficient and productive, implementing these improvements across the EU. You also use tools like SCADA to monitor processes, ensuring their performance, and support administrative tasks in close collaboration with your supervisors. You work on-site in one of our logistics centers, with shifts that may include nights and weekends. With the knowledge and experience you gain, you will evolve into further leadership positions.

With fulfilling our customer orders (Customer Fulfillment or CF), Amazon's journey began. The Customer Fulfillment Team has evolved from a modest team of book retailers to a highly experienced global team that processes over 1.5 million orders daily. The team forms the basis of our business and has helped us expand into new regions and services. With emerging technology, we are constantly looking for ways to offer a greater and better selection of products that are delivered quickly and affordably. The CF team members ensure that our customers receive their orders at the speed we are known for. We work in fulfillment centers, which are the core of Amazon's dynamic operations network. Our Fulfillment Centers are sometimes referred to as the 'first mile' - where most Amazon packages start their shipping journey. We support the management of a dynamic inventory and enable fast deliveries around the clock. Various employee groups are employed in our Fulfillment Centers, offering numerous opportunities for people with diverse skills. Some of us work with physical products, while others analyze data and help make smart decisions across the organization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• In addition, completed qualification as an Industrial Master, Craft Master, or State-Certified/Acknowledged Technician, or several years of relevant professional experience
• Practical experience in leading teams
• Experience in the automation and maintenance of conveyor systems
• Advanced German language skills in speaking and writing, as well as basic knowledge of English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in managing subcontractors
• Understanding of PLC-based control systems and legal compliance requirements
• Experience in using computerized maintenance management systems to plan proactive maintenance and record reactive actions
• Degree, preferably in a technical field or business administration
