    YOUR TEAM

    As the newly formed ICB Platform Security and Safety Team within the Platform Development Department at CARIAD, we are defining the Security and Safety Architecture of the high-performance computing platforms for some of the most complex computers in the vehicles of the Volkswagen Group.
    In this context we are looking for highly motivated and qualified functional safety engineers to strengthen the area of Functional Safety for Cockpit/Infotainment, Connected Vehicle Platform and the Body Domains.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Drive the concept, design and implementation work for all functional safety relevant functions within the aforementioned ICB Platform Domains
    • Span from the definition and design until series production maturity of functional safety components in system, hardware, software and functions
    • This will be included, but not limited to the analysis and the acceptance of the safety relevant documentation for our projects
    • ASIL relevant enhancements () and their integration in the Infotainment Domain and to the challenge of coexistence of ASIL and QM requirements in the same device
    • Use of professional system modelling, system engineering and system analysis tools, as well as modern virtual development methodologies for design and implementation work

    WHO YOU ARE

    • Tertiary qualification in a relevant electronic or information technology field – ideally with embedded system, hardware or software development/software engineering elements
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in system design for System on Chips, hardware/firmware/drivers design or software development with focus on ASIL relevant functions
    • Excellent knowledge of the ISO 26262 and strong experience in Functional Safety Management and Functional Safety Analysis running and/or being responsible for Fault Tree Analysis, Functional Hazard Assessments, System Safety Assessments, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
    • Good knowledge of requirements management, project management / project tracking and collaboration tools such as DOORS, Jira, Confluence, SVN etc
    • Fluent communication skills in English. German language skills are highly desirable
