A global leader in packaging industry is looking for a purchasing manager to join their plant in Baden-Württemberg. My client are dedicated to innovation and sustainability, continually investing in research and development to ensure they are at the forefront of the packaging industry. This particular role will be a key driver for the plant, working closely with both global and local operations to drive site performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive the purchasing functions with an assertive, ambitious personality. You will be leading the purchasing function for the site so will need a good understanding of the day to day needs of a manufacturing site.
• Design, develop and implement category strategies.
• Enhance supplier relationships whilst ensuring quality and service of suppliers maintains at a high level.

Key Qualifications:

• Several years professional procurement experience, ideally in some form of production setting. As this role will be covering both direct and indirect procurement, experience can be in either or both areas.
• Demonstrate success in managing complex, cross-functional activities.
• Ability to build, maintain and enhance supplier relationships.
• Strong knowledge of SAP – following a recent internal transformation, a good comprehension of SAP is essential.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, professional fluency in English is essential and some level of German proficiency is extremely beneficial.
