Your Tasks

Global Real Estate Management (GREM) partners on a worldwide basis with the operational units to drive the property portfolio of the Schenker Group. GREM's responsibilities include Transaction Management, Construction Management and Facility Management, as well as the strategic vehicles to drive portfolio optimization. For our Strategy & Concept group, we are in search of a new Subject Matter Expert in Transaction Management (*).

Main responsibility of the Subject Matter Expert (SME) Transaction Management is to own the Real Estate transaction processes for Freehold & Leasehold acquisition and disposals. The ownership includes the monitoring of already developed transaction processes incl. provider relationship management and the establishment and implementation of new processes, to add value to the group globally.
  • Define sourcing strategy incl. outsourcing line, clusters, provider models for RE
  • Development of transaction strategies specific to business needs including own v. lease strategies
  • Optimization of transactions processes and structures by developing new tools and vehicles, supported by a competence circle of specialists based in the operating countries.
  • Monitoring of compliance to transaction processes on a global basis
  • Development & implementation of RE-service provider-strategy incl. relevant standards
  • Onboard service provider and drive quality management for RE-frame contracts
  • Support of operational RE teams with questions regarding rental contracts & landlord communication
  • Development of cost optimization initiatives with countries & regions globally
  • Monitoring of optimization achievements & proactive adjustments in case of deviation

Our Requirements

  • 5-10 years' experience in Real Estate transaction management and knowledge in all aspects of the industrial and logistic Real Estate market

  • Strong conceptional strength and the ability to balance Real Estate and Business Units needs

  • Proactive behavior with a strong stakeholder focus and the ability to establish relationships

  • Experience in influencing matrix structures and interfaces

  • Structured working approach

  • Strong result-orientation

  • Strong team-orientation

  • International experience

  • Strong communication skills in English, additional languages are desirable

  • Candidates with financial background, developer background or transaction advisory background desirable
