What you will be doing


Reporting directly to the VP of Enterprise Quality Assurance - International Operations, with a dotted line to the General Manager of World Courier, the Senior Director - Quality is responsible for ensuring that World Courier remains the gold standard for operational excellence within the Specialty Logistics industry. 

Due to the global scope of this position there is flexibility for the location of the successful candidate, however preferred locations are Germany, or UK - ideally within travelling distance of a local World Courier office. 

Priorities for this exciting global opportunity at World Courier will include but are not limited to:

  • To implement, maintain and develop the Quality program for World Courier on a global level
  • To lead and facilitate Continuous improvement within World Courier
  • To act as go to person for all World Courier global Quality related aspects
  • To lead the development of shared best practices for quality across World Courier
  • To lead and develop all QA personnel within World Courier
  • To ensure that all tasks required by a “Responsible Person” as per European Guidelines on Good Distribution Practice of Medicinal Products for Human Use (2013/C 343/01) are fulfilled
  • To facilitate ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 compliance for the World Courier Group of Companies 
  • To facilitate global compliance activities for World Courier including but not limited to ABCs Compliance program, GDPR, FCPA, Security Laws, and business driven regulatory compliance


  • World Courier stays up to date with existing and new regulations
  • Established quality standards are maintained and relevant new quality standards are implemented
  • World Courier’s current service portfolio complies with applicable quality related regulations and new services are assessed for compliance
  • Develop and facilitate Continuous improvement programs
  • The tasks of a “Responsible Person” are fulfilled
  • A Global team of World Courier QA associates is lead and developed
  • SOPs are implemented 
  • World Courier’s technical installations and processes comply with applicable Quality Standards
  • Quality related Client audits and Authority inspections are properly performed 
  • CAPA and Change Management is performed
  • The internal audit and self inspection programs are conducted
  • ISO 9001 compliance is maintained
  • ISO 14001 compliance is maintained
  • Metrics are applied
  • The Subcontractor qualification program is performed
  • Technical/ Quality agreements are generated and reviewed
  • Applicable global compliance activities for World Courier are fulfilled
  • What your background should look like (minimum qualifications)


  • Proven experience (10+ years) of pharmaceutical quality experience and a minimum of 5+ years of leadership experience in GxP Quality Assurance or Quality System management positions in a wholesale distributor, medical device, or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Master's degree in related discipline preferred. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.
  • Detailed GMP, GSP, GDP and GCP expertise
  • Fluency in English
  • Managerial competence
  • Intercultural competence

  • Advanced leadership skills
  • Ability to reconcile different interests and mediate between business units, divisions, departments
  • Advanced understanding of Quality Management processes
  • Sound understanding of Environmental Management processes
  • Detailed GxP (GMP, GSP, GDP and GCP) expertise
  • Minimum of 10 years working experience in Quality environment
  • Fluency in English
  • Intercultural competence
