    Interim PMO / Transformation Lead

    Location: Cologne, Germany (2–3 days on-site, travel across DACH)

    Contract Type: Interim (with potential to transition to permanent)

    Start: Immediate availability required

    Role Overview:

    We are supporting a private equity–backed services group undergoing an active buy-and-build and transformation phase . The Interim PMO / Transformation Lead will play a critical role in driving enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, ensuring disciplined execution across multiple workstreams, and supporting integration activities following acquisitions.

    This is a highly hands-on role suited to an experienced interim leader who is comfortable operating in complex, fast-moving environments and working closely with senior leadership, functional heads, and external stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities:

    PMO & Program Leadership

    • Establish and lead a centralized PMO function to manage transformation and integration initiatives
    • Define governance structures, reporting cadence, KPIs, and decision frameworks
    • Track progress across multiple workstreams, ensuring delivery against timelines, budgets, and strategic objectives

    Business Transformation

    • Lead cross-functional transformation programs across operations, commercial, finance, IT, and shared services
    • Translate strategic objectives into executable plans with clear ownership and milestones
    • Identify risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks, proactively driving resolution

    Buy-and-Build & Integration Support

    • Support post-merger integration activities across newly acquired businesses
    • Drive alignment on operating models, processes, and performance management
    • Ensure rapid stabilization and value creation following acquisitions

    Stakeholder Management

    • Act as a trusted partner to executive leadership, board representatives, and private equity sponsors
    • Coordinate internal teams and external advisors to ensure consistent execution
    • Prepare high-quality steering committee and board-level updates

    Change & Execution Focus

    • Embed a results-driven, execution-oriented culture across the organization
    • Support change management initiatives to ensure adoption of new processes and ways of working

    Key Requirements:

    Experience & Background

    • Extensive experience as an Interim PMO Lead, Transformation Lead, or Program Director
    • Strong track record working with private equity–backed businesses , particularly in buy-and-build environments
    • Proven experience in post-merger integration and large-scale transformation programs
    • Background within services-based businesses (e.g. industrial services, B2B services, professional services)

    Skills & Capabilities

    • Highly hands-on with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
    • Strong structuring, planning, and execution skills
    • Excellent stakeholder management and communication capabilities
    • Comfortable working in ambiguous, high-pressure environments

    Other Requirements

    • Immediate or short-term availability
    • Willingness to work on-site in Cologne 2–3 days per week and travel across the DACH region
    • Open to transitioning into a permanent role subject to mutual fit
