    Quantum Futures has been retained by an innovative photonic start-up in the EU who are looking for a Photonic Integrated Circuit Engineer to join their team. As a PIC engineer, you will be working closely with a team of scientists to advance their innovative projects to enable them to be market leaders within photonics. You will have the chance to work with a highly skilled team conducting research and development to build fast, low-loss single-photon compatible integrated photonic components for quantum computing applications.

    Responsibilities:

    • You will be designing, simulating, and optimizing photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for specific applications using industry-standard software tools.
    • You will be responsible for developing and implementing fabrication processes for PICs, working closely with fabrication facilities
    • You will be working effectively within cross-functional teams, sharing your expertise and managing projects to ensure successful outcomes.
    • You will be conducting experiments, tests, and measurements to validate PIC performance and troubleshoot any issues.

    Requirements:

    • The successful candidate will have a background with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or a related field with a focus on PIC design and development.
    • They will have experience in designing, simulating, and optimizing complex Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) for cutting-edge applications.
    • They will have experience in industry-standard simulation tools, such as Lumerical, RSoft, COMSOL, or similar.
    • They will have In-depth knowledge of semiconductor fabrication processes, cleanroom experience, and hands-on expertise in PIC fabrication.
    • Strong interest in learning new skills, a strong work ethic who is willing to put in the extra effort.
    • Strong understanding of a wide range of photonic components, including lasers, modulators, detectors, multiplexers, and waveguides.

    Candidates must be eligible to relocate to Germany
