    The Intern – Tube Classification and Characterization for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for supporting the development team with investigation, evaluation, and proof-of-concept implementation of approaches to enhance and improve tube classification and characterization.

    This position is part of the Software Development Team located in Munich and will be on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

    You will be a part of the SW Architecture Group and report to the Senior Manager SW Architecture responsible for DxA Lab Automation Tube Classification and Characterization Algorithms. If you thrive in a fast paced role and want to work in a world-class R&D organization—read on.

    In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

    · Investigate and evaluate state-of-the-art approaches for pattern recognition and object classification.

    · Contribute to proof-of-concept implementations for selected approaches.

    · Perform tests in simulation and at HW prototypes.

    · Get involved in the team's experiments and conceptual discussions.

    The essential requirements of the job include:

    · Studying computer science (or related field) with background in image processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence (preferably master studies)

    · Solid programming skills, preferably in C#, C++ or python.

    · Interest in medical devices and laboratory automation systems.

    · Willingness to work with HW prototypes.

    · Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
