Job Title: Project Manager for High Voltage Direct Current Cable Project

Company: 50Hertz

Description: Here, I take full responsibility from end to end within one of the largest high voltage direct current underground cable projects for cable design, production, and testing.

What makes this job interesting to me: 50Hertz is driving the grid expansion for the energy transition. In the project area, we are responsible for implementing the DC onshore projects at 50Hertz. This includes programs like SuedOstLink, SuedOstLink+, NordOstLink, and more. Within this portfolio, we are currently in the planning and approval phase, laying the foundation for the realization and commissioning of these high voltage direct current transmission connections (HVDC connections).

My Responsibilities:
- Independently leading and managing the project team, service providers, and internal/external project stakeholders for the design, planning, cable production, and commissioning of the HVDC onshore underground cable connection
- Supporting the approval process in the context of NABEG
- Participating in and developing strategies for tendering, planning, quality assurance, and commissioning of the line connection, including preparing tender and contract documents
- Communicating and ensuring project interests with internal and external stakeholders, representing the project when needed in public events and to authorities
- Defining project management requirements, actively managing the sub-project to achieve program and project goals (especially HSE, time, quality, cost)

My Skills:
- Degree in an engineering discipline like Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or related fields
- Experience in planning and executing large infrastructure projects with a focus on cable technology development
- Work experience in an organization with large projects, ideally in a matrix organization
- Solid experience in cable design, production, cable/jointing assembly, cable testing, or quality assurance/production monitoring
- Knowledge of installation and onshore cable logistics is advantageous
- Experience in technical leadership in an interdisciplinary environment
- Proficient in PC standard software, especially MS-Office
- Very good German language skills (C1) and good English language skills (B2) in both verbal and written communication

Nice to Have:
- Certification in project management or similar credentials
- Ideally familiar with project management tools and SAP
