Job Description

1. Responsible for analysing and providing assessment of relevant public policies and their implications to SHEIN's business interests in Germany. He/she will also work with the Senior Director to manage the company's public policy positions in Germany and across various domain areas.
2. Work with the Senior Director and other relevant SHEIN departments to develop and drive stakeholder engagement strategies, as well as take the lead in executing and managing policy engagements in Germany.
3. Responsible for fostering strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and translating stakeholder and policy engagements into tangible commercial outcomes to advance SHEIN's market access in Germany.
4. Plan, organize and manage SHEIN's various stakeholder engagement platforms in Germany, in support of the objective to expand and enhance our collaborations with key stakeholders from various backgrounds such as political/regulatory stakeholders, civil society, industry associations and other public arenas.
5. Effectively work with various teams globally, such as the government relations and public relations teams in Europe, and SHEIN's Marketing, Logistics, Legal and ESG teams to represent and advocate the company's positions on a multitude of policy issues.
6. Exhibit a keen interest in and ability to comprehend the interconnections between politics, business, finance, sustainability, technology and innovation, and international relations.

Job Responsibilities

1. Track, monitor and provide assessment of strategic/policy issues and their implications to SHEIN's commercial interests in Germany.
2. Develop and provide recommendations to SHEIN's senior management and relevant business units concerning political, policy and regulatory issues.
3. Identify and map key policy stakeholders (including political office holders, government officials, regulators, international organizations, non-governmental organizations and industry associations).
4. Develop and drive engagement strategies to reach out and build strategic relationships with key stakeholders to strengthen SHEIN's network of partners.
5. Formulate and execute advocacy plans to translate policy engagements into tangible commercial outcomes to secure SHEIN's market access and expansion efforts and to ensure the successful running of SHEIN's business operations in Germany.
6. Develop and drive strategic communications plans in support of company's overall policy positioning and profiling.
7. Organize and manage meetings with external parties, including the preparation of briefing notes/presentations for senior management's reference.
8. Lead in the planning, organization and management of networking platforms.

Required Qualifications and Experience

1. Degree in International Relations, Political Science, Global Studies, Law, Economics, Communications or related field.
2. At least 8 years of working experience in government relations or public policy.
3. Experience in policy research, development and analysis.
4. Strong policy and regulatory network in Berlin with a demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at the highest corporate/political levels to undertake advocacy work.
5. Prior experience in e-commerce/marketplace/fashion sector would be advantageous.
6. Track record of effectively solving complex issues and delivering strong results while maintaining the highest standards.
7. Keen interest to translate policy/regulatory engagements into tangible commercial outcomes.
8. Willingness to travel across Germany, and potentially to Austria and Switzerland.
9. Strong analytical, presentation (written and oral) and project management skills.
10. Strong proficiency in English and in German.
11. Excellent interpersonal skills.
12. Ability to multi-task and have exceptional attention to detail while operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
