Off-Grid Europe is an internationally oriented company in the field of renewable energies and intelligent technologies with a focus on Africa.

You will have 35 colleagues from 17 different nations in our team in Germany. We also have 70 employees in Senegal who install and commission our systems on site.

In order to fundamentally shape the future of Off-Grid, we are now looking for a person who is keen to take on a leading role in setting up a multi-company and international finance system.

Your responsibilities

• You are the driving force behind the design and establishment of a multi company and international finance department at Off-Grid
• Define and manage the Finance strategy in Germany and African area including all financial management services, planning, analysis, group accounting, reporting and budgets considering country business, ensuring compliance with international regulations
• You will work very closely together with the international offices and will support them to integrate into the system
• Establish a Group Compliance framework including financial control procedures and ensure adherence
• Drive continuous improvement for Finance processes & tools
• Integrate our Group-wide ERP system, leveraging AI systems and time series data, to optimize operational efficiency
• Lead, plan, organize and deliver Finance initiatives, services and processes to achieve financial transparency, maintain short and long-term financial health, and advise the management team

Who you are

• At least five years of professional experience in a comparable position as CFO or in a senior financial leadership role ideally in a start-up or scale-up environment
• Exceptional global financial management skills, with a thorough understanding of international regulations and accounting practices, especially German accounting
• You are keen to work with a very dynamic and diverse team
• You share our enthusiasm for making a difference on this planet and want to play an active role in shaping Off-Grid
• You are willing to travel to our international offices
• As we are a growing company you will need to be super hands-on and an entrepreneur by heart
• You are an IT savvy, have the ability to think creatively and strategically, employing modern tools, AI and technologies to achieve financial objectives and increase impact
• You are business fluent in English (verbal and written), and fluent in German
