Our client is an American headquartered asset manager, and one of the world's largest and oldest investment management companies. Due to continued company growth and expansion, they are now seeking a high-calibre Business Development Associate to join their high performing team on a permanent basis.

Working in one of the firm's priority markets, and reporting to the Head of Institutional Business for Germany & Austria, the Business Development Associate will take on the following responsibilities:.

Generating and participating in client meetings
Securing meetings with prospects
Representing the business at industry conferences, proactively networking during the event and diligently following up afterwards
Proactively managing matters relating to winning business (such as expediting fee discussions)
Work on the development of a specific group of clients, including the development of a sales strategy
Market research on target institutions
Identifying new areas for business development
Involvement in business strategy and planning
Preparation of management reports to reflect the new business effort
Work as part of a collegiate team that shares ideas and best practices
Be part of a broader European Distribution group committed to building the business in Europe

The Business Development Associate will meet the following criteria:

1.5 years' – 3 years' experience working in the investment management industry
Experience working in one of the following disciplines: sales, sales support, client service, business development
Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Proven experience in winning new business
Experience of presenting in a professional sense
High energy, hard-working and enthusiastic
Fluent in English; native (or equivalent) in German
