    Amazon's Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering organization(RME) is hiring a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager focusedon Building Management Systems (BMS) and its related equipment andcomponents including Heating Ventilating Air Conditioning (HVAC)systems, IoT sensors, data analytics and visualization platforms.


    This individual will initiate and managemultiple programs and projects using effective time managementskills and personal impact to drive complex activities across theorganization.

    The Technical Infrastructure Program Manager supportsall Amazon fulfillment business units and site types. This rolewill drive continuous improvement of the BMS and activelyparticipate in the design and implementation of ImprovementStrategies.

    The goal is to increase efficiency, uptime, and providesupport to operational areas with an emphasis on short- andlong-term reliability improvements.


    This rolerequires a dynamic individual who can independently manage complextechnical programs, lead cross-functional teams, and drive ourcommitment to sustainability and operational excellence.

    The candidate will lead withinfluence and work with internal teams as well as externalsuppliers, vendors, and consultants including utilities,manufacturers and contractors to align priorities and ensure thedelivery of key milestones.


    The successfulcandidate will be a subject matter expert in their field, andpossess a BMS, HVAC, or IT background, coupled with anunderstanding of project/construction management.

    This positionwill require proficiency in the principles of airflow distributionand understanding of common HVAC sequence of operations strategies.

    This person will be able to undertake the challenges ofsophisticated equipment platforms and demonstrate their ability tothink broadly and strategically in aligning building equipment withthe larger objectives of the business.

    Key jobresponsibilities


    • Develop, execute, and manage programsfocused on the implementation of sustainable HVAC and mechanicalsystem solutions across different business units.
    • Workindependently to successfully deliver program goals, seekingguidance as needed and making connections to the right people ortechnologies as required.
    • Oversee the delivery ofcapital projects related to the BMS, from scoping and design toconstruction and commissioning.
    • Collaborate closelywith internal and external stakeholders, including technologyproviders, customers, partners, and vendors, to delivercomplex/cross-functional projects.
    • Identify and driveimprovements in the BMS, HVAC and mechanical systems to increaseenergy efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and enhanceperformance.
    • Provide technical leadership on BMS, HVACand mechanical system design, installation, operation, andmaintenance.
    • Lead cross-functional teams, manageresources, and maintain project schedules and budgets.
    • Develop and implement training programs to increase team knowledgeand competence.
    • Monitor, evaluate, and report on theperformance and efficiency of the BMS
    • Stay up to datewith the latest sustainable technologies and industry trends andensure compliance with relevant regulations andstandards.
    • Review engineering designs & drawings,construction and commissioning documentation and perform systeminspections for construction quality, safety and regulatorycompliance.
    • Develop, implement, and supportpreventative and predictive maintenance strategies for new andexisting equipment.
    • Participate in/lead Root CauseFailure Analysis (RCFA) to identify root causes of complex and/orrepetitive problems and put in place executable correctiveactions.
    • Provide support for hazard evaluations andrisk assessments to comply with applicable OSHA, EPA, andInternational Building Code requirements ormethodologies.
    • Provide leadership to drive continuousimprovement with assets and site reliability.
    • Analyzeoperational data, KPIs, OEE, etc. to identify gaps and areas ofpotential improvement.
    • Actively participate in designand implementation of Asset Improvement Strategies for systems toimprove production and uptime.
    • Lead discussions tohandle concerns and Requests for Information (RFIs). This willrequire technical knowledge, resourcefulness to navigate throughinternal and external resources, and a focus on customersatisfaction.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



    • Bachelor'sDegree in an engineering or relevant technical discipline
    • Operations and reliability maintenance experience inmanufacturing, industrial warehouse or commercial buildingenvironment.
    • Experience in managing multiple programs /projects, using effective time management skills and personalimpact to drive complex activities across theorganization.
    • Experience in BMS and HVAC design,construction, or maintenance.
    • Experience in design andoperation of mechanical systems, including Roof Top Units, CRACsystems, HVLS and exhaust fans and other air quality and comfortcontrol equipment.
    • Experience testing/troubleshootingusing a range of devices, to identify and report out on basebuilding systems.
    • Ability to understand technical airbalance (TAB) reports and recommend changes to equipmentsettings.
    • Familiarity with safety standards andregulatory requirements including international building code(IBC), National Electric Code (NEC), ASME, NFPA and ASHRAEstandards.
    • Experience preferably in a supervisory orproject management role in the installation of utilities andinfrastructure in new construction and existingbuilding.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solvingskills.
    • Proven ability to analyze and troubleshootelectrical control wiring and related BMSinstrumentation.

    PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS



    • Six Sigma/Project Managementcertification (PMP or equivalent).
    • ProfessionalEngineering (PE) License, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or LEEDaccreditation is highly desirable.
    • Proven ability toanalyze and troubleshoot electrical control wiring and related BMSinstrumentation.
    • High capability to adapt to tightdeadlines, heavy workloads, frequent changes in priorities, andchanges in the business environment.
    • Understanding ofpsychometrics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamicprocesses and their relation to HVAC related applications.
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills tosuccessfully integrate and align a multi-discipline team indelivery of projects.
    • Able to problem solve andtroubleshoot as the need arises with a hands-onapproach.
    • Familiarity with building and or processheating/cooling load calculations to derive HVAC equipmentspecifications.
    • Experience using HVAC monitoringsoftware, such as Niagara BMS for troubleshooting.
    • Ability to train new and existing site technicians on basics ofHVAC, Mechanical and Plumbing equipment operation, andmaintenance.
