- Implement novel algorithms and computational methods for the interpretation and visualisation of biological data, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including domain experts, to gather requirements and ensure the software meets the needs of end-users.
- Write clean and efficient code, adhering to best practices and coding standards (preferably using python).
- Work closely with non-software development domain experts to understand their needs and incorporate their insights into the software development process.
- Apply knowledge and experience in AI/ML, bioinformatics, immunology, or related fields to enhance software functionality and capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- Several years of professional experience in software development, preferably in a bioinformatics or computational biology context.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Expertise developing scientific/computational pipelines, for example Nextflow, Cromwell/WDL, Snakemake.
- Expertise using orchestration frameworks such as Prefect and containerisation tools like Docker.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like GCP, and continuous integration tools like GitHub Actions.
- Experience collaborating with domain experts who are not primarily software developers.
- Familiarity with AI/ML, bioinformatics, immunology, or related fields.
