Join a dynamic, fast-paced tech startup as a freelance video editor, supporting ongoing, months-long projects that demand both creative flair and technical precision. This role is ideal for a versatile editor who excels in cinematic branded storytelling as well as clear, engaging technical or educational content. You will be working in a hybrid capacity, collaborating closely with a team in Munich, Germany, and must be able to deliver polished, elevated edits under tight deadlines. The ability to step in as a Director of Photography is a strong plus, as is a keen eye for both expressive brand work and clarity-driven video production.
Responsibilities
- Edit a variety of video content, including branded storytelling, technical explainers, and educational materials
- Collaborate with creative and technical teams to ensure content aligns with project goals and brand standards
- Maintain a high standard of quality and consistency across all deliverables
- Work efficiently to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, startup environment
- Adapt editing style to suit both expressive and clarity-driven projects
- Occasionally assist with filming and serve as Director of Photography when required
- Implement feedback quickly and effectively to refine final outputs
Skills And Requirements
- Proven experience as a video editor, with a strong portfolio showcasing both branded and technical/educational content
- Advanced proficiency in industry-standard editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or similar)
- Strong storytelling skills and a polished, elevated editing style
- Ability to work on-site in Munich, Germany (local applicants only; no remote or travel-based arrangements)
- Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, ideally within tech or startup sectors
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Bonus: Experience as a Director of Photography or with on-set filming
