Vallum Associates is currently recruiting for a leading energy business who are on the hunt for a Software Engineering Manager to manage and help build a bigger engineering team.

They are looking for someone with:

• 7+ Years of Software Engineering Experience : Candidates must have a solid foundation in software development, showcasing expertise in various programming languages, software architecture, and development methodologies, ideally with a background in .NET, Azure and React would be a plus.
• 3+ Years in a Leadership Role : Demonstrated experience in leading teams, providing mentorship, recruiting and making strategic decisions is required.
• Experience with Distributed Systems Architecture : The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in designing and managing distributed systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
• Monitoring and Performance Analysis Expertise : Candidates should be skilled in using monitoring tools and performance analysis techniques to ensure software system health and reliability.
• Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Best Practices : A deep understanding of SRE principles, such as reliability engineering, service level objectives (SLOs), error budgeting, and incident management, is essential.
• Experience with Technology Adoption and Evaluation : Candidates should be proactive in staying current with emerging technologies, evaluating their benefits, and assessing risks for the organization.
• Strong Project Management Skills : Candidates should have a proven track record of leading large-scale engineering projects, managing planning, execution, and delivery while meeting quality, budget, and timeline targets.
• Excellent Communication and Collaboration Skills : Successful candidates will excel in collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as product management and design, ensuring that engineering efforts align with business goals and market needs.
