    About the Role

    The Senior Engineer, Audio Feature of the Audio Feature Technology & Innovation organization will be responsible for driving, developing, documenting new innovative audio features that will extend and strengthen the Automotive Car Audio technology portfolio & product value. As part of the development duties this person will also be creating & aligning signal flow designs, doing complex implementations, and performing reviews.

    In addition to a very good hands-on experience based on a solid academic foundation, 8 years+ experience in Audio development and technology expertise he/she must be a passionate & culturally open individual to closely work with diverse teams & effectively build sustainable relationships.

    What You Will Do

  • Technology feature development & integration – Ideate, align & execute the development & validation of new audio features based on using a modular approach of building blocks that get developed by the Audio Feature Algorithm & DSP team. Pay attention to effective signal flow creation with low footprint & best audio performance. Own features and actively drive the creation of user stories with the support of the project lead. The success of this role will also be assessed on the timeliness of delivery, the engineering efficiency and quality.
  • Innovation –The Audio Feature Engineer shall come up with new ideas & creative approaches to foster an "out of the box" thinking. He/she shall create with the team new IP that helps to protect our technologies & differentiate from competitors. Depending on the project phase there will be some opportunities to rotate within the Audio Features Technology & Innovation to contribute with algorithm development in case the candidate brings the right experience in a specific domain.
  • Documentation The Audio Feature Engineer owns the creation of easy & intuitively usable documentation of feature technologies that shall get closely aligned with the users prior to officially hand over.
  • Develop Lasting and Winning Relationships – Build winning relations ships with the relevant global Automotive teams and colleagues to ensure the technology development meets the expectations and gets acceptance from users.
  • Business Acumen – Keep the ROI and technology value in mind when making decision for development approaches. Foster this value-based mindset when working with colleagues.

  • What You Need

  • Academic background – bachelor's or master's degree in Sound Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Signal Processing or equivalent.
  • Technology Development - He/she shall have a strong experience in innovative audio feature development and must bring 8+ years hands on experience in creating signal flows, audio features, doing acoustical measurements and/or tuning of car audio systems. Additionally strong experience with the usage of state-of-the-art audio SW applications is required. He/she shall also have hands on experience in using MATLAB. This experienced engineer shall bring a high-quality mindset und must well understand to support the definition of a validation plan that ensures the audio features get properly tested and work per design.
  • Leadership/Team player- a considerate, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards. Very good technical skills, analytical thinker with high creativity. A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a strong team player. A very good educator who is fostering sharing of information and serves as a mentor.
  • Innovation & Mentoring – well experienced in developing class leading technologies. Technical capability to guide less experienced engineers and lead by example. Very good experience working in the Audio & or Automotive industry. Experienced in research and development of digital audio) signal processing and algorithm development. Knowledge in AI/ML domain and related fields is a plus.
  • Acoustic/Electroacoustic – the Audio Feature Engineer must have a profound academic foundation combined with practical experience in electroacoustic, psychoacoustic and room acoustics with a focus on in car acoustics. He/she must be very familiar with the design, usage of acoustical measurement methods, tools and analysis of measurement results such as impulse responses, polar plots, spectrograms and similar. Hands on experience in tuning audio systems and designing loudspeaker systems is a plus.
  • SW Product Development – experienced in technology and product development, and program execution. Experience with agile SW development.
  • Communication Skills - while it is required this person to be very technically skilled, he/she must have the ability to promote and explain new features to internal & external customers.
