The mission of elevait GmbH & Co. KG (elevait) is to empower enterprises to unlock the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for their business. To achieve this, we bring together state-of-the-art machine learning approaches, powerful semantic web concepts, as well as modern web and DevOps technologies in our user-friendly products.

One of our core principles is the separation of generic, atomic AI building blocks into self-contained services. With this, we can serve individual customer needs with one software platform by orchestrating different services into software products. Our central orchestration tool is capable of connecting arbitrary data input sources, to convert or manipulate different data formats, communicate via different messaging protocols, and generate individual target customer data formats by configuration only. Suchlike workflows can be defined with a no-code paradigm in a dedicated UI. To continue our endeavor and make AI Studio more stable, performant, and scalable, we are currently looking for a Software Engineer (Java, Backend) that is eager to support the responsible team in Dresden

Your Role

• You'll design and implement important functionalities within our service orchestration tool, focusing on backend development using Java
• You are pushing the agile development of the generic, reusable pieces for our platform, striving for powerful, user-friendly, and scalable solutions
• You make sure that the delivered software meets previously identified requirements and is of high quality by following or improving robust quality assurance processes and practices
• You support other teams in identifying and debugging issues in our data pipelines, ensuring that the service orchestration is working as expected

Your Skills

• You have substantial experience working with Java and backend technologies.
• You have experience with non-SQL database tools, such as MongoDB
• You are familiar with tools, technologies, and practices for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), including Git, PR reviewing, and Docker.
• Optional: You have already worked with Apache NiFi
• Optional: You have some knowledge of knowledge graphs and semantic web (e.g., RDF, SPARQL, SHACL).
• You love to work in a structured way within a team and independently
• You have excellent communication skills in both, German and English
