    Walter is recruiting for an IT Lead Financial Controlling and Performance Management (m/f/d) – location flexible within Germany

    As consequence of a recent role change within our internal rotation program, we are looking for our new DT & IT Controller to lead Financial management and Performance management capabilities within our office of the CIO (OCIO).

    Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead budget processes execution consisting of preparing, prioritizing, justifying and securing funding for DT & IT
  • Manage DT & IT spend effectively and proactively
  • Lead end-to-end process around new DT & IT investments, from demand identification and creation of business cases to measurement and postimplementation review
  • Allocate costs within supporting accounting structure and systems inclusive of showback & chargeback activities
  • Benchmark the financial performance of the DT & IT function, highlighting areas for cost optimization, providing transparency, measuring the benefits of IT investments
  • Define, maintain and report on the metrics to track the progress of DT & IT achievements against objectives inclusive of business performance contributions
  • Contribute to overall DT & IT function process improvement and agile adoption initiatives
  • Included in your responsibility is:

  • Guide and support cost center's owners in budgeting, forecasting and spend management
  • Support and/or coordinate a variety of cross-team activities, including maintenance of supplier contracts, creation of purchase orders and investment requests, time reporting, assistance in complex projects financial controlling
  • Review purchase and staff augmentation requisitions
  • Provide support and guidance for investment approval requests preparation
  • Lead definition, implementation, tracking and reporting preparation on DT & IT function's KPIs
  • Run continuous improvement of the performance management tool and related reports
  • Support Walter's CIO with the preparation budget, quarterly recurring reporting or any performance management report
  • Work closely with the IT Project Portfolio manager in all financial related topic
  • In this role you will report to the Manager of the Office of the CIO (OCIO). You will be part of growing team of 2 team members supported by several contractors. You will work in a global and hybrid organizational structure - decoupled but connected - having wide collaboration across Walter, Group IT, the Sandvik Machining Solutions (SMS) business area and its divisions' IT teams.

    Your Profile:

    You are characterized by the ability to interact within all levels of the organization, build strong relationships, understand business imperatives and work with minimal supervision. You bring in-depth knowledge and understanding of IT Controlling and Performance management principles, processes, industry best practices and operational knowledge.

    Further qualifications:

  • Bachelor or master's degree in business administration, business and computer science or comparable practical business experience
  • 5+ years of controlling experience (experience in the IT domain is an advantage)
  • Experience with dashboard tools such as SAP SAC or Microsoft Power BI
  • Experience in cost center planning, cost allocation and cost distribution
  • Strong in structured and independent way of working, quick comprehension
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Strong in visualizing effectively important information
  • Strong analytical skills and IT acumen
  • Project management skills is a plus
  • Fluent in English
