    Mission

    The person hired will serve as the primary technical expert within our Business Unit in Germany, focusing on the development stage. Reporting to the Technical Office Manager at Corporate level, she/he will be responsible for the basic engineering of the projects developed/acquired in German, ensuring the delivery of all associated outcomes

    Responsibilities

    • Decide and prepare all documentation regarding the optimal configuration of the projects, especially PV plants, built by Solarpack based on the available area, yield study and global costs of the project throughout its useful life, taking into account the specific requirements of each project and of the country.
    • Site visits to greenfield projects to assess suitability for PV projects, complemented with desktop analysis. This involves identifying terrain constraints such as slopes, electric lines, watercourses, roads, etc, primariliy through via GIS tools. Desktop analysis may be coordinated with the Corporate team, depending on the candidate's proficiency.
    • Coordinate the procurement and analysis of topographic, hydrological and geotechnical studies, potentially collaborating with the Corporate team depending on the candidate's expertise.
    • Determine the optimal configuration for PV installations considering yield output, CAPEX, OPEX during the lifetime of the project, as well as available area and land analysis. The decision-making process requires basic financial knowledge, including understanding metrics such as IRR, EBITDA, etc.
    • Prepare general layouts and single-line diagrams in PVCase/AutoCAD for presentation to different stakeholders during the early stages of development, including electrical connections in LV, MV and HV.
    • Calculate detailed EPC CAPEX of the projects based on the layout prepared, utilizing specific unit costs for Germany, obtained through interactions with EPC contractors and equipment manufacturers.
    • Conduct PVSyst production studies for the designed configuration.
    • Engage in Technical Due Diligence processes with Technical Advisors to validate the selected technical configuration and yield study assumptions.
    • Participate in meetings with Business Development Team and M&A team to provide technical assessment for project acquisitions in Germany.

    PROFILE OF EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE FACTORS

    TRAINING AND KNOWLEDGE

    • Degree in Energy/Electrical/Industrial Engineering or related degree.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

    SKILLS LINKED TO THE POSITION

    • Electrical knowledge in LV and MV is mandatory. HV knowledge is highly valued.
    • Experience in bidding and/or project environment is highly valued.

    PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

    • High experience in the design of photovoltaic plants in Germany. Minimum 2 years experience designing PV projects with PVCase/AutoCAD.
    • Minimum 1 year in CAPEX calculation for projects in Germany+ in PVSyst.
