    The Position

    Your departmentThe unit Pharma Technical Cell and Gene Therapy (PTCG) is responsible for technical development of in vivo gene therapeutic modalities in the preclinical and clinical development stage.Your TeamGene Therapy Analytical Department focuses on analytical development, quality control and development and implementation of novel analytical technologies from pre-clinical studies until market authorization (BLA, Biologics License Application) and launch for gene therapeutic modalities.Your tasksWe are looking for a Senior Associate Nucleic Acid Sciences (m/w/d) with a specific focus on the analysis of plasmids and characterization of viral vectors.Your main tasks will include:

    • Scouting, evaluating, developing and implementing innovative methods for the analysis and characterization of viral vectors (mainly rAAVv) for gene therapy applications

    • Advancing technologies for characterization and quantification of viral vectors in a highly motivated and agile interdisciplinary team

    • Independent, self-organized practical execution of experiments, method development, device qualification and test validation under GMP requirements as well as the execution of the tests

    • Participation in the development and definition of control and testing strategies for gene therapy vectors and plasmids

    • Independent interpretation, evaluation and documentation of data and preparation of analysis reports in accordance with applicable regulations

    Our ideal candidate

    • Master's degree in cell biology, biology, biochemistry, chemistry or other relevant life science discipline with more than 3 years of practical and theoretical experience in the field of molecular biology

    • Proven expert knowledge (both theoretical and practical) in the field of next-generation sequencing (e.g. Illumina, PacBio, Oxford Nanopore)

    • Additional knowledge of electrophoretic methods (agarose gel electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, Western blot and immunofluorescence, CE-SDS), cloning techniques (e.g. restriction, ligation, purification methods for plasmid DNA) qPCR, dPCR, RT-PCR, cell culture, flow cytometry and analytical ultracentrifugation desirable

    • Specialist knowledge in the field of gene therapy and/or virology, e.g. in the field of virus analysis (AAV, lentiviruses, etc.)

    • Knowledge and experience with the principles of GMP (e.g. data integrity, equipment qualification, method validation)

    • You have a high degree of self-motivation and a sense of responsibility as well as the ability to work precisely and document accurately

    • In addition, you are results-oriented and an excellent team player

    • Routine measurements of plasmids and rAAVv

    • Fluent English and/or German language skills (written and spoken) round off your profile.
