- Oversee statutory compliance for our company's financial reporting in accordance with German GAAP.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand our company's reporting needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Support General Accounting team during periods end.
- Collaborate closely with actuaries to ensure accurate valuation and accounting for Company's pension obligations based on German GAAP.
- Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives, including legal entity restructuring project.
- Coordinate with external auditors for the component and statutory audits of financial statements, ensuring seamless collaboration, compliance with audit requirements and deadlines.
- Oversee the production of financial reports; ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
- Actively identify opportunities to streamline existing processes, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration is required.
- 5 years or more of related experience required (preferably audit firm)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required or local equivalent
- Previous experience as a manager or senior accountant in an accounting firm is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentation).
- Proven experience in statutory financial reporting and compliance, with understanding of German regulatory requirements is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks of competing urgency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with both junior and senior staff.
