Café Tiergarten, located on the ground floor of the historic 'Schwedenhaus' in Berlin's Hansaviertel, is a carefully restored architectural gem rooted in the legacy of the 1957 International Building Exhibition. This venue showcases its original 1957 design aesthetics, featuring timeless creations from renowned designers such as Aalto and Le Corbusier. At Café Tiergarten, guests enjoy organic, regional, and seasonal offerings, including coffee, cakes, light lunches, freshly tapped beer, and fine wines. Nestled near Berlin's Victory Column, visitors can savor moments on the sunlit terrace overlooking Tiergarten or relax in the stylish, light-infused interior, where architecture, culture, and culinary delights converge.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site Erasmus+ internship role based in the Berlin Metropolitan Area. As a Hospitality Intern at Café Tiergarten, you will support day-to-day operations to ensure a seamless guest experience. Your responsibilities may include welcoming and assisting guests, providing excellent customer service, supporting food and beverage preparation and service, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the overall ambiance of a picturesque and culturally significant venue.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Customer Service and Communication to ensure a welcoming and professional guest experience.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in Hospitality and Hospitality Service to contribute effectively to daily operations.
  • Familiarity with Food & Beverage practices to assist in the preparation and service of menu items.
  • Passion for teamwork, punctuality, and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in architecture, design, or cultural heritage is an additional asset.
  • Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of German or additional languages is advantageous.
