- Overall process responsibility for the development, integration and optimization of product protection components (e.g. full body cover, soft top protection, floor boxes, seat protection film, transport eyelets) across all Mercedes-Benz model series and in all plants
- Technical leadership in the strategy/development phase along the development process
- Project reporting, risk, schedule and cost controlling, compliance with environmental protection requirements
- Responsibility for and creation of concept/vehicle specifications, definition of component requirements, creation of functional specifications
- Component part numbers and code documentation in the development system, autonomous scheduling and scheduling of newly developed components
- Development and technical approval/sampling of components
- Carrying out and coordinating wind tunnel tests and assembly tests
- Material tests (e.g. adhesive strength, tear resistance, paint compatibility)
- Supplier management, approval of new suppliers/materials, auditing of supplier production sites
- Start-up support
- Profitability calculations taking into account damage rates, production, material and assembly costs
- Benchmark analyses and evaluation of technology alternatives
- Intensification of sustainability considerations, e.g. use of "green" materials (bio-PE, recyclates, etc.), improvement of recyclability, etc.
- Coordination and lead of interdisciplinary and cross-plant project groups and leading the projects into management Qualifikationen
- Many years of experience in the development of product protection parts for vehicles in the automotive industry
- Completed studies in engineering; ideally with a specialization in packaging technology
- Sound experience in logistics/supply chain management, preferably in the international automotive industry
- Market knowledge of international vehicle transportation is desirable
- Strong knowledge of project management and project management functions
- Good knowledge of development and documentation tools as well as sampling systems
- Confident handling of common office software (MS Office products) is a prerequisite
- Business fluent in German and English
- Further foreign language skills are an advantage
- Analytical and structured way of working, ability to work in a team and strong communication skills
- High level of initiative and decisiveness, entrepreneurial approach

In the Transport Planning and Strategy team in Global Transport Logistics with a focus on transport quality and product protection at the Böblingen site, we plan, develop and implement transport protection parts for new Mercedes-Benz Cars vehicles. This enables us to protect our products on transport routes worldwide. As a separate module group, we are structurally part of the supply chain, but functionally integrated in our work processes in development.
We also want to make a contribution to the company-wide "Green Strategy". Join us in shaping the transport networks of the future in conjunction with the highest level of protection for our vehicles in the logistics chain: robust, flexible, digital and CO2-neutral.
