Introduction

We are in search of a dedicated Android developer to join us in creating a top-notch video streaming platform that users engage with on a daily basis. You will be responsible for developing a high-quality product to meet our customers' needs and enhancing our engineering process and tooling across various teams. While currently using Kotlin, we highly value the ability to adapt to changing technology trends.

In this role, you will operate within our 'Highly Remote' hybrid model, offering the flexibility to work predominantly remotely within Germany. Specific work locations include Unterföhring near Munich or Berlin, with travel expenses not covered.

Expectations in this Role

Contribute to the development of an exceptional video streaming app for Android devices, serving millions of users across multiple countries
Collaborate closely with Product, UX, and Tech teams to design new features, enhance existing implementations, and address technical debt, quality issues, and process gaps
Work with a modern tech stack including Kotlin, AndroidX, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines & Flow, RxJava2, GraphQL, Hilt, and GitLab
Demonstrate a quality-focused mindset by writing unit and instrumented tests for code changes
Promote and implement modern, agile software development practices and contribute to fostering excellent engineering and organizational standards

Required Experience and Education

Demonstrated expertise in developing Android apps using Kotlin, Coroutines, and possibly Jetpack Compose
Proactive, eager to learn, and accountable for outcomes
Pragmatic problem-solving approach with a focus on simplifying complexities to support team deliverables
Effective communication and ability to advocate for solutions
Experience in enhancing overall quality through unit and UI testing using libraries like Mockito, MockK, and Espresso
