- Developing a strategy for the most efficient and fastest way to achieve the breeding objectives
- Planning, carrying out (sowing, scoring and selection), supervising and evaluating field trials in relation to the above-mentioned breeding activities, but also for testing varieties already on the market and screening genebank material for suitability for the company group
- Selection on the basis of phenotype and genotype
- Data management of the assessment results (phenotypic data) and the molecular genetic data sets generated with service providers
- Application and evaluation of marker analyses, evaluation of sequencing results and other self-generated or externally generated data sets resulting from the breeding activities
- Co-supervision of external service providers
- Introduction of new molecular breeding techniques
- Assistance in the supervision of seed production
- Scientifically trained and active person
- Working independently, goal-orientated
- Experience in biostatistics and field trials as well as marker-assisted work in plant breeding
- Willing to actively participate in data acquisition in the field
- Work experience in breeding vegetable crops
- Willingness to travel occasionally
- Good knowledge of German and English
