  • YOUR TASKS

  • You will work as a specialist in various project teams, acting as the point of contact for database design and the interface to the development, vendor management, and operations departments.
  • You are responsible for the setup, operation, and monitoring of PostgreSQL and Oracle databases, on-cloud and on-premise.
  • You will implement and monitor databases in a high-availability environment (e.g., cluster, DataGuard).
  • You will oversee all database deployments and be responsible for code reviews.
  • You optimize SQL queries for Postgres and Oracle.
  • You handle incidents, changes, and problems according to ITIL standards.
  • Additionally, you evaluate new technologies in the database field and implement them in the company as needed.
  • YOUR PROFILE

  • You have at least 10 years of extensive experience working with Postgres and Oracle databases in complex IT landscapes. Experience with AWS Aurora Postgres is a plus.
  • You have practical knowledge in the DevOps field, preferably in Linux environments (e.g., scripting, containerization, automation, virtualization) - experience with Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, and Python is an advantage.
  • You are skilled in handling cloud services and IaaS, ideally AWS.
  • You have good SQL/performance tuning knowledge for Postgres and Oracle and monitoring knowledge via Oracle Cloud Control, CloudWatch, and Grafana.
  • Certification as an Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) is an advantage.
  • You have a strong customer orientation and service mentality, as well as a willingness to be on call 24/7 (about one week per month).
  • Quick comprehension and good analytical skills.
  • You enjoy working independently and responsibly within a team, with a "hands-on" approach.
  • You have good German language skills (at least B2 level) and excellent English skills (C level), both spoken and written.
