    JOB SUMMARY

    The IT Manager (Openings) contributes advanced knowledge and skill in technology, project management, installation coordination and general hospitality business knowledge to support the openings of both managed and franchise hotel projects with its technology (IT) objectives.

    The IT Manager (Openings) reports to the Director, IT Opening Team Operations and Projects, and is responsible for assisting the Directors of IT Opening Projects with technology implementation, coordination, and project management as assigned.

    The role provides support as part of our opening projects with defined processes across the area this team is responsible for (EMEA).

    The position is responsible for ensuring the hotel-based technology is installed to Marriott required standards and to implement and maintain security compliance ensuring successful handover to the iT Field Operations Team, as well as pre-opening tasks as defined by the IT Opening Projects team.

    The IT Manager (Openings) interfaces with vendors, Continent and Hotel IT Associates, Hotel Associates, Directors of Opening Projects, Operations Opening Team, owner representatives and consultants, (franchise) operators and other relevant Marriott departments such as development, global design, FLS and MEP.

    Location requirements:
    IT Technical Opening Manager is Home Based with extensive travel.

    Language Requirements:
    High proficiency (speaking, reading and writing) in English is required.

    Travel Requirements:
    There is approximately % business travel required with the potential for multi-week trips.

    Business Context Will travel extensively for extended periods of time to support the IT installations/implementations for all opening projects, as directed by the Director, IT Opening Team Operations and Projects, and/or the IT Directors of opening projects, covering all countries for both managed and franchised contracts supporting all brands.


    • Will implement hotel technology in compliance with Marriott International's Policies and Standards. Makes recommendations on practises and processes in line with deployed SOPs and standards.
    • Prepares opened hotels for the handover to Europe's iT Operations according to Marriott IT standards and Europe IT's internal requirements and processes.
    • Assumes responsibility and autonomous completion of IT related opening tasks for both franchised and managed opening projects, as directed by the Director, IT Openings Team Operations and Projects and/or the IT Directors of opening projects.
    • Assumes responsibility for the organizing and processing of its own work-related travel, expenses processing, and any other personal admin tasks related to the role.
    • Ensure that the hotel is ready for handover to iT operations according to the implemented handover requirements, expectations, and processes.
    • Hotel Liaison for information technology vendors providing support and services.
    • Provides escalation support for out of SLA issues for 3rd party vendors during the preopening period.
    • Assists property in resolving complex support issues that may involve multiple vendors and systems as part of our defined support process.
    • Reinforces communication to property management relating to IT policies / projects / issues and plans.
    • Provides status reports to property management teams as requested.
    • Assists in the management and implementation of property systems upgrades.
    • Provides end user support to hotel associates during the preopening period.
    • Applies security and operating systems patches as directed by corporate and divisional technical leads in order for security requirements to be adhered to at all times.
    • Liaise with and train the property, cluster or multi property IT associates as applicable depending on the support model being implemented for that hotel.
    • Completes IT Checklists in a timely manner.
    • Manages Security Compliance of all devices.
    • Assisting with and attending countdowns during the last week(s) before the official opening of the hotel. Primality managed hotels, occasionally franchised properties.
    • Meets with and develops relationships with Franchisees to assist with opening projects. Job Specification

    • Manages and conducts regular team meetings (conference calls / web calls)
    • Ensures relevant documentation is maintained and updated to required standards
    • Manages or takes part in any kind of Kick Off Meetings as directed
    • Provides administrative assistance to opening team as directed by the Senior Director, IT Opening Projects
    • Provides general IT support for any kind of technical issues during franchised or managed opening projects
    • Keeps technical documentation related to opening processes up to date
    • Assumes responsibility to being kept up to date on all current and future Marriott IT standards
    • Working and coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery of all technical installations for the assigned projects Candidate Profile Experience Experience 3-5 years IT systems installation experience gained within Marriott Good problem solving and project management skills. Hotel operations experience preferred Experienced in network hardware, desktop, peripherals, protocols, communications, operating systems and the Company internal applications (MARSHA,, Opera, Sales & Catering ,etc.)
