- You will monitor legislative and regulatory initiatives in the field of Sustainable Finance, including analyzing their impact on the member institutions of the banking association and developing positions, statements, as well as guidelines and interpretations.
- You will represent the interests of private banks to policymakers, ministries, authorities, and business associations at the international, European, and national levels.
- Your continuous monitoring of relevant regulations in Sustainable Finance will form the basis for engaging presentations and expert articles on these topics.
- You will contribute to the planning and organization of events.
- You will participate in working groups of the European Banking Federation and the International Banking Federation.
- You will also be responsible for supporting committees, working groups, and task forces of the association in the field of Sustainable Finance.
- Your engaging and responsible tasks will also include participating in various thematic projects.
- Your ability to work in a structured manner, grasp complex issues, and present them clearly can be demonstrated through a degree in economics or law.
- Professional experience in advocacy, a financial institution, or management consulting is advantageous.
- Expertise in the context of Sustainable Finance (e.g., EU Taxonomy, Transition Finance, etc.) is welcome.
- You have the necessary sensitivity for the political aspects of association work.
- You possess strong communication and social skills and can express yourself confidently and clearly in German and English, both verbally and in writing.
- You can confidently engage with high-ranking domestic and foreign representatives from politics, supervisory authorities, and banks.
- You have persuasiveness, can find compromises, and are capable of effectively moderating groups towards common goals.
- Your strengths include analytical and conceptual skills, commitment, creativity, independence, flexibility, and curiosity for new topics.
- You have good digital skills and are proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

How will banking look in the future? How will we pay in the future? How will the sustainable transformation of our economy be financed? What makes good economic and financial policy? Those are just a few of our topics and questions. Do you want to help shape the transformation of banks?
We are the leading association for shaping the transformation of the financial industry. We advocate for the interests of private banks in Germany. Our members include large, internationally active banks as well as regional and foreign banks. In addition to banks, our members also include FinTech companies and several regional associations.
The Sustainable Finance team needs your support as a Referent/in (w/m/d). This is a full-time position (39 hours/week) that is not suitable for part-time work due to organizational reasons.
Banks play a significant role in achieving EU climate goals and the sustainable transformation of the economy. Our Sustainable Finance team deals with various issues related to Sustainable Finance and the challenges it poses to the financial industry. The team represents the interests of private banks in these areas and accompanies the corresponding regulatory initiatives at international, European, and national levels. We also collaborate with our member banks on practical solutions to various conceptual issues and the implementation of regulatory requirements in the field of Sustainable Finance.
