- Construction, Commissioning, Test and ongoing development of a high throughput setup for powder diffraction and total scattering within the scope of the ErUM-Transfer project MEDESES (cooperation between DESY, ESRF and BASF / Momentum Transfer) at PETRA III beamlines P.1 and P
- Development and commissioning of the new fully automated powder diffraction end station at P in collaboration with scientists of the powder diffraction team at PETRA and engineers
- User support at beamline P.1 and P
- Work as part of a team of scientists and engineers to provide operational support for powder diffraction and PDF experiments, in close collaboration with the International user community and industry
- Develop and pursue an own In-house research program in the field of powder diffraction or total scattering
- Present the beamline capabilities at international conferences
- Work closely with partners at ESRF and Momentum Transfer
- PhD in chemistry, physics, material science or equivalent field or qualification
- Profound knowledge in beamline instrumentation and data collection at 3rd or 4th generation synchrotron beamlines
- Experience In analysing data from either powder diffraction or total scattering experiments
- Knowledge in one or more fields of solid-state research (e.g. pharmacy, ln-situ catalytic or gas sorption studies and/or battery materials or similar) using X-ray scattering for structure characterization
- Experience in user operation and design & construction of automated experiments
- Basic knowledge of programming languages, preferably Python
- Excellent team worker
- Excellent communication skills In English
