    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Purpose of Position
    The Managing Director / Site Leader, for the production facility in Salzkotten, Germany will oversee all cross-functional activities and align them, so that the site meets or exceeds customer expectations for quality and on-time delivery and achieves the established financial metrics for the site, while ensuring safety of employees on the job at the same time.

    This role defines and implements the manufacturing strategy for Salzkotten and the EU by reducing organisational and product line complexity and drives continuous improvement by deploying and accelerating the use of the Vontier Business System (VBS) toolkit.

    This leader must be active and engaged in driving the GVR and Vontier culture, as outlined in our core values of Stronger Together, Driven to Win, Reimagine Better and Create What's Next. The leader must be a champion of building diverse and agile teams and set and exemplify high performance standards.

    The role holder is registered as a Managing Director (Geschäftsführer). At least full-time presence on site from Monday to Friday is required.

    • Ensures operational excellence, protection and further development of the company's key capabilities, skills, and competencies

    OPERATIONS:
    Operations Strategy:

    • Definition and implementation of the manufacturing strategy for SK and EU, including plan for footprint optimization

    • Alignment between GVR strategy and deployment to SK and EU operations

    • Enablement of profitable growth from e-mobility

    • Implementation of organisational optimisation strategies across Europe
    Operations Performance:

    • Creation of a process-oriented, results-focused organization while delivering on-time high quality products to meet and exceed customer expectations

    • Achievement of operational and financial targets including: EHS, Quality, OTD, Inventory turns, Productivity, Manufacturing/freight variances, Employee experience survey metrics to ensure the site's success.
    People:

    • Hire and develop key operations talents to ensure succession across the company

    • Create a focus on inclusion and diversity across the operations organizations

    • Develop and mentor talent at all levels across operations

    Background and Skill

  • Technically educated management personality
  • Extensive management and functional knowledge as a Plant-, Production- or Manufacturing- Leader with Site responsibility in an international, ideally an US-led company
  • Comprehensive knowledge of modern management and organizational methods, in particular in-depth knowledge of lean management as well as proven success in the design and implementation of lean management transformations, efficiency improvements and corresponding change projects
  • Business fluent German and English language skills are mandatory
  • Proven track record of developing talent
  • Strong customer focus, with understanding of how decisions will impact the customer's experience
  • Ability to communicate at a senior executive level on key issues, strategies and actions needed for success of the global business
  • General management acumen, with an understanding of the financial impact of decision making within the operations function
  • Skilled in dealing with ambiguity, balancing speed for key decision making
  • Active engagement with all levels of the organization and ability to build consensus working across functions
  • Commitment to and experience with continuous improvement including VBS and other lean tools
